TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN

Transitional Housing is designed to assist literally homeless families with children for up to 2 years. It provides a comprehensive and integrated approach for guiding families into their own self-reliance. Interested, what is next?

Once a family is selected, they move into an apartment or house depending on family size, need and availability. The family will need to pay for their own utilities and their rent, which is based on a percentage of their income. We have a specialized case manager that work individually with the family in locating and keeping employment, enrolling in higher education, developing a budget, addressing parenting needs and setting future housing goals. Any family that doesn’t have a GED is required to attend adult basic education classes (currently due to COVID-19,  there are other choices).  All school-aged children must attend school.  Families can be referred to any other community resources based on their goals.
